Creative Drama Workshops: In this program, students explore a variety of theatre aspects from storytelling to pantomime, as well as character development, creating a scene, and basic prop, set, and costume development. An emphasis is placed on creative expression and collaboration, and the direction of the class is guided by participant's interests and ideas. A great class for all ages and abilities.

Improvisation: In this program, students play improvisation and theatre games designed to increase their ability to think more quickly and creatively in a variety of situations. They work as a team and greatly improve their problem-solving skills. It's also a ton of fun! This improvisation workshop is designed to challenge and inspire students to stretch their brains and limits.

Stage Makeup, Special Effects, Basic Costume, Makeup and Set Design: These classes offer an introductory, hands-on approach to some of the aspects of technical theatre. Students learn about design decisions, create introductory templates and designs of their own, and work with white models, fabric, glue and stage makeup to begin bringing their ideas to life. This class requires a supply fee in addition to enrollment costs.

Puppetry: In this program, students build simple puppets, learn about puppet manipulation, and create original scenes for their puppets to participate in. Puppetry is an excellent way for shyer students to participate, as it provides an alternative to speaking directly to an audience. This class requires a supply fee in addition to enrollment costs.

Drama for Preschool Students and Emerging Readers: This program is designed especially for children 5 and under and explores creative expression, with a link to literature. Classes begin with a story, and through the ideas of participants and guidance from the instructor, children create and build their ideas using the story as a jumping off point. A wonderful way to help young children develop a love of books and collaborative nature with others.

Family Drama (The Good Kind!): Want to build language, creative thinking, problem solving, and socialization skills for your school-aged child while engaging in fun and laughter?! Children are natural actors and pretenders. Through creative drama classes, they are able to explore thoughts and ideas while utilizing pantomime, story-telling and creative expression.  When working together with others and a care-giver, they are able to expand and be open to ideas, communicate verbally and non-verbally, and use imagination to collaborate. Fun for the whole family and a great way to relieve stress by playing together!

"Drama Out of the Box has been the best experience for my 6yo daughter! She can be shy at times and this class really helps to bring her out of her shell. She couldn't stop raving about how much fun she had last time I picked her up from class. She even promised to do chores if I let her go back again!! If you're looking for a great place for your kids to build their self esteem, work out some energy and learn how to think on their feet, then this is the class for you!!!"
Jodie N. (Parent)

"Hi my name is Erika and I did the class-it was very fun. It made me feel calm. We played 3 very fun games. I can't wait to go back! I am in 4th grade."
-Erika L. (Participant in Improv for Kids Workshop)

"My 7 yr old LOVES this program! Every time we leave, she wants to know when we're coming back- and is excited to go even if it's been a while!"
-Becki G. (Parent)

"My children love coming to these classes! They are so much fun. I cannot wait to bring my Girl Scout Troop!"
